Tricep Implant Procedure
Triceps implants are performed by Dr. Douglas Steinbrech, who has performed many successful procedures for his male patients. Dr. Steinbrech will make an incision in the arm, cut a silicone implant precisely to fit each patient, and insert it into the arm pocket. A very small dressing is placed, and the patient can typically see the change immediately after surgery. Once placed, the implant is secured under your tricep muscles. The whole tricep surgery takes approximately 80 minutes to perform using general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, which leaves the patient awake but not fully aware.
Recovery
During recovery, patients are instructed not to lift their arms for two days after surgery. Dressings are then removed, followed by a gentle exercise program within 1-2 weeks to enable a complete and comfortable range of motion of the arms. Generally, within a week or two, physical use of the upper body muscles may be resumed, and within one month, total muscular activity may be recommenced.
Risks
Risks of triceps implant surgery include:
- Infection
- Bleeding
- Asymmetry
- Scarring
- muscle and/or nerve damage
Cost
On average, tricep implant surgery costs between $5,000 and $10,000 (nationally and can vary based on location). It includes the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia fee, operating room fee, and implant fees. About Bicep Implants
Bicep implants increase muscle definition in the upper arms. This is an excellent option for those having trouble increasing muscle mass in their upper body, even after rigorous exercise regimes. Bicep implants also assist in improving the proportion and appearance of the body as a whole. Implants are tailored to each individual to ensure a sleek, seamless look.
The incision for the implants is located in the underarm to conceal scarring. A pocket is created for the bicep implant to rest. The bicep implants are inserted through the incision and positioned within the soft tissue. The muscle and fat area will develop scar tissue acting as a lock surrounding the implant to keep it in place. The incision is closed with sutures, and a bandage is applied to reduce swelling and discomfort. Patients will typically see a change immediately after surgery is complete.
Recovery
After any surgical procedure, slight bruising, swelling, or aches may occur. Patients will be instructed not to raise their arms for two days following surgery. Regular activities may be resumed one to two weeks after surgery, excluding heavy lifting. The total recovery period is two to three weeks.
