The tummy tuck has been a tried and true procedure for decades, even for men. We all love the feeling when we step on a scale and see that we’ve lost weight. However, many of us, men especially, are only able to lose so much weight before the body stops dropping pounds. Besides, that limit is often not enough for us to feel comfortable with our bodies. One major side effect of heavy weight loss is excess flab and skin. It’s one of the most disheartening things a man can endure. We all love having a fit physique, no matter who we are or where we live. We want to show off our amazing physiques at the beach, or when standing in front of a lover. Does this sound familiar to you? Are you unable to gain a good physique while losing weight? Alpha Male Plastic Surgery’s TorsoTuck™ is the male solution to the overtly popular, tummy tuck.
What Is a Tummy Tuck (TorsoTuck™)?
Like the tummy tuck, our TorsoTuck™ is a cosmetic procedure that eliminates the excess skin made visible by weight loss – tailored to male patients. While there are a few similar procedures for men, this is the only one that creates a smooth, natural look from every angle. Whether you’re from New York, Chicago or Los Angeles, the TorsoTuck™ will create a body that’ll make everyone think you’ve always had perfect skin.
The TorsoTuck™ specifically addresses the torso, thighs, and rear end. As a patient, you can also decide to use our patented BodyBanking procedure, using your body fat as a filler. This effectively redistributes fat to more desirable areas. See our full TorsoTuck™ gallery here.
How Does the Male Tummy Tuck Work?
Before you can get your TorsoTuck™, your surgeon will sit down with you and discuss your goals, problem areas, and whether you are a good candidate for the procedure. If your doctor approves you, he’ll come up with a solid surgery plan tailored to your specific needs.
During this meeting, he’ll also take a look at your body, pinpoint where he’ll have to make incisions, and discuss what you’ll have to do during your recovery. If everything is approved, Dr. Steinbrech will schedule you an appointment.
The doctor will start the procedure with a general anesthetic, and make incisions near the buttocks, thighs, and lower end of the stomach. He removes the excess skin and stretches the remaining skin across the body. Your doctor will also suction out any excess fat, if necessary, and deposit it in a new area of your body to make you look more attractive. He will then close the area with sutures.
What’s Tummy Tuck Recovery Like?
Like a typical tummy tuck, recovery for men will take some time. After your TorsoTuck™, you’ll likely have to be out of work for about a week and a half to two weeks. You’ll be able to exercise again after about a month, and will be able to slowly resume your normal activities after that. You will also have to wear compression garments to reduce swelling and assist healing, and you will receive medicine to help you cope with any pain. As such, this is very much a “plan ahead” sort of surgery. Recovery will vary considerably depending on how extensive the procedure is.
What Makes Me A Good Candidate For A Male Tummy Tuck?
You’re a good candidate if:
- You have lost a large amount of weight and have been able to keep your loss of weight stable for a substantial amount of time
- You have excess skin that you want eliminated
- You want additional skin contouring
- You are in good health and have realistic goals in mind
