Dr Steinbrech is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in liposuction. Liposuction sculpts the body by removing undesirable fat that has not responded to diet and exercise from the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks, and neck.

The Procedure

The Hi Def Liposculpting procedure may last one to five hours, depending on the amount of fat removed. Dr. Steinbrech will use either local or general anesthesia depending on the size of the area(s) being treated and several other factors. Methods are discussed during your pre-operative consultation.

The Recovery

Post-Hi Def Liposculpting, drainage tubes, compression garments, and antibiotics may be needed to facilitate the healing process. Many patients return to work within a few days. Strenuous activity should be avoided for about a month.

The Recovery Process

After gluteal implants or gluteal fat injection, you can expect to avoid sitting down or lying on your back for up to three weeks post-procedure. Special compression garments are given to reduce swelling. Swelling post-procedure is normal, as is some bruising or discomfort. However, patients typically return to work two to three weeks after gluteal augmentation, and swelling will cease completely after six weeks.
