How Does the Male Tummy Tuck Work?
Before you can get your TorsoTuck®, your surgeon will discuss your goals, problem areas, and whether you are a good candidate for the procedure. If your doctor approves you, he’ll develop a solid surgery plan tailored to your specific needs.
During this meeting, he will also examine your body, pinpoint where he will have to make incisions, and discuss what you will have to do during your recovery. If everything is approved, Dr. Steinbrech will schedule an appointment.
The doctor will start the procedure with a general anesthetic and make incisions near the buttocks, thighs, and lower end of the stomach. He will remove the excess skin and stretch the remaining skin across the body. If necessary, your doctor will also suction out any excess fat and deposit it in a new area of your body to make you look more attractive. He will then close the area with sutures.
What’s Tummy Tuck Recovery Like?
Like a typical tummy tuck, recovery for men will take some time. After your TorsoTuck®, you’ll likely have to be out of work for about two weeks. You’ll be able to exercise again after about a month and will be able to resume your normal activities slowly after that. You will also have to wear compression garments to reduce swelling and assist healing, and you will receive medicine to help you cope with any pain. As such, this is very much a “plan ahead” sort of surgery. Recovery will vary considerably depending on how extensive the procedure is.
