Bicep and Tricep Implants

Tricep implants are a cosmetic procedure designed for men that creates muscular definition and increased mass in the lower arm area. This surgical procedure is useful for men who can not achieve the lower arm toning that they desire no matter how many triceps dips they may do at the gym. Tricep implants can enhance the look you are trying to achieve by providing you muscular definition and increased mass in your arms.

Candidates

Ideal triceps implants candidates are useful for men who have a hard time achieving muscle mass in their upper arms area and the toning they desire. Best candidates for triceps implants should be in good health, have realistic expectations and non-smokers. Other candidates can include males who have had an injury or an accident in which muscle mass augmentation is needed to achieve normal balance.

Tricep Implant Procedure

Triceps implants are performed by Dr. Douglas Steinbrech, who has performed many successful procedures for his male patients. Dr. Steinbrech will make an incision in the arm, cut a silicone implant specifically to fit each patient and insert it into the pocket of the arm. A very small dressing is placed and the patient can typically see the change immediately after surgery. Once placed, the implant is secured under your tricep muscles. The whole tricep surgery takes approximately 80 minutes to perform using general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, which leaves the patient awake but not fully aware.

Recovery

During the recovery period, the patient is instructed not to lift their arms for two days after surgery. Dressings are then removed followed by a gentle exercise program within 1-2 weeks to enable a full and comfortable range of motion of the arms. Generally, within a week or two, physical use of the upper body muscles may be resumed and within one month, full muscular activity may be recommenced.

Risks

Risks of triceps implant surgery include:

  • Bleeding
  • Asymmetry

About Bicep Implants

male-plastic-surgery-summerBicep implants are used to create an increased muscle definition in the upper arms. This is an excellent option for those having trouble increasing muscle mass to their upper body even after rigorous exercise regimes. Bicep implants also assist in improving the proportion and appearance of the body as a whole. Implants are tailored to each individual to ensure a sleek, seamless look.

The incision for the implants is located in the underarm to conceal scarring. A pocket is created for the bicep implant to rest. The bicep implants are then inserted through the incision and precisely positioned within the soft tissue. The area, consisting of muscle and fat, will develop scar tissue that will act as a lock surrounding the implant to keep it in place. The incision is closed with sutures, and a bandage is applied to reduce swelling and discomfort. Patients will typically see a change immediately after surgery is complete.

Regular activates may be resumed one to two weeks after surgery, excluding heavy lifting. The full recovery period is two to three weeks.
