Male Liposuction With BodyBanking® in Chicago

Liposuction is a classic surgical technique that helps people contour their bodies for a more athletic, lean, and attractive appearance. Dr. Steinbrech is a certified surgeon who specializes in male liposuction in Chicago – all using state-of-the-art methods. Liposuction currently remains the single most popular aesthetic surgery procedure in America. Typically, liposuction is used to remove unwanted fat from areas in male patients that weren’t responsive to diet, weight lifting, and exercise routines. What makes lipo so great is how many places it can be done. Liposuction can eliminate undesirable fat from your waist, hips, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, knees, upper arms, cheeks, chin, or neck. Perhaps one of the most commonly targeted spots for liposuction in our male patients is the waist region – also known as a man’s “love handles.” Getting liposuction in Chicago offers men the opportunity to slim areas of the body while ensuring that these areas will not accumulate fat deposits at times in the future.

Personalized Care

Being a male interested in liposuction and finding a Chicago-area plastic surgeon who understands your aesthetic needs can be tough. No one knows this better than Dr. Steinbrech. During your consult, Dr. Steinbrech will take ample time to understand and listen to what each patient liposuction for, and to determine which technique to use to help them achieve their goal.

Liposuction procedure for Men in Chicago

The procedure for male patients in Chicago starts by an injection of a saline, anesthetic, and adrenaline combination. This mixture’s goal to reduce bruising and bleeding while also making fat more collectible. In medical terms, this is known as either the “super-wet” or the “tumescent” technique, based on the fluid to the targeted fatty tissue ratio. Then, after the solution has been put into the area, Dr. Steinbrech goes ahead with one of two specialized methods of liposuction. These two methods are called suction-assisted lipectomy (called SAL) or ultrasonic-assisted lipectomy (known as UAL). With both methods, a tiny incision gets made in a discreet part of the body. In the case of SAL, a cannula (small tube) is inserted and moved back and forth beneath the skin. This will break up the fat layer and help suction it out easily. With UAL, ultrasonic energy gets used to liquefy fat. This liquefaction is a way to break down the fat more smoothly before it is suctioned out with a cannula. This is a more techy approach. Based on how much excess fat is being taken out, liposuction could last anywhere from 1-5 hours in Dr. Steinbrech’s Chicago clinic.

Liposuction Recovery

Once your surgery is complete, Dr. Steinbrech may use drainage tubes, compression garments and prescription antibiotics to facilitate your healing process. Male patients who had liposuction around the abdomen or thighs are encouraged to walk and move as soon as they can. Many liposuction patients will be able to return to work after a few days, but more intense activities should be avoided for a month.

Results of Liposuction

Partial results of liposuction are visible immediately. In most cases, improvement will continue as your swelling subsides for the first three months after their surgery. Most male liposuction clients in Chicago love their new look.

Risks of Liposuction

For the most part, liposuction is a low-risk procedure. Nevertheless, they can occur from time to time. Risks are particularly uncommon for men when the liposuction surgery is performed by a qualified doctor on a man who’s in relatively good health. These risks and side effects can include the following:

  • Bacterial infection
  • Healing and unexplained recovery delays
  • Fat or blood clotting
  • Shock and/or burns
  • Swelling
  • Tear or perforation
  • Lidocaine toxicity
  • Anesthesia or drug reactions

Though rare, it’s possible to see irregularities in appearance, including asymmetric results, overly loose skin, numbness, tight skin, or sudden skin pigmentation changes. To learn more about male liposuction in Chicago, please contact our clinic to book a no-obligation consult with Dr. Steinbrech.
